TREASURE Pilot Campaign
TREASURE mobile app is being evaluated by 50 volunteers and the TREASURE team in Athens (GR) and Palma (ES). An additional experiment is conducted in Athens, where the participants carry a portable temperature recorder 24/7 for one week to assess their exposure to heat during summer days. The mobile app assesses the outdoors personalized heat wave risk from high temperatures based on the position and profile of each participant, whilst the recorder tracks the temperature variations as he/she moves around the city during the day (transport, office, home, beach). This activity is the responsibility of the Medical Statistics and Epidemiology group of the Medical School of the University of Athens.
Official Ceremony hosted at the Athens City Hall
A milestone for our project: the Mayor of Athens, Giorgos Kaminis, presented TREASURE Services to the Athenians and the Press. Many thanks also to the President of the National Observatory of Athens for his support. A TREASURE workshop preceded with the Greek partners highlighting their contributions to TREASURE. TREASURE Kick off meeting in Athens
The purpose of the KOM was for the Coordinator to welcome the consortium, to present the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all parties and organise the future actions. The aim is also to establish communication within the consortium. The Quality Assurance Group gathered for the first time and establish a common understanding of its role and responsibility. All partners presented their organisations and the experience they have so far with from previous projects and from personal research. This reinforced the complimentary roles of the different groups.
